SOL!

The bomp.net project was started in 2004 with the aim of creating a network of artists of all types. The centre of operation would be Bristol in England. The innovating company is Palava Arts formed as Sam Welbourne, Alessandro Vespa and Jackie Welbourne. The project called on a number of local artists to be involved as test cases.

After launch we realised that unless there was investment the project would not take off, Whilst the concept is solid it could not create a community without significant effort, and the cost of further development work would need to be financed.

Bristol City Council were approached, as the projects sits well with the council's own well stated Cultural policy, and also it's current bid to be crowned the UKs top digital city in the governments Digital Challenge policies.
Their reaction was good, however no money or support has been forthcoming - as yet.

Since July 2005 Palava Arts has continued to develop the under lying application called ARIA and this will itself be the subject of an investment drive in the near future.

If you are interested in the possibilities of the project please look at the initial proposed site and contact sam@palava-arts.com

Despite the huge potentail of this project, at the present time bomp.net has only a very small number of members. Most artists will go with what's immediately accessible to them and right now they can get some promotion via myspace.com

Yes, we missed the opportunity to become the world's 4th largest web site!
However with investment to take this project forward, we will turn this site into be an exciting specific high quality promotional network of artistes of all types.
